Flaws as art
When working with natural materials, flaws are unavoidable. There may be cracks, knots and rot hidden in the wood.
We hate the idea of throwing out wood, so we let ourselves be inspired by the traditional Japanese kintsugi techniques originally used for mending ceramics with gold.
Suddenly the flaw in the wood, becomes the one little thing that brings character and extra value to an item.
We love both the idea of it, and the combination of oak and gold.
